Credit repair / CROA & FCRA

Educational — not a guarantee

Content on this site about credit reports and disputes is educational. It does not guarantee any outcome, score change, or removal of information. Results vary. Accurate information may remain on your credit reports.

What legitimate assistance can involve

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumers may dispute information they believe is inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable. QTAC may help clients organize documentation and communicate disputes regarding such information. We cannot remove accurate, timely information merely because it is negative.

No guaranteed score increases or item removals

We do not guarantee score increases, item deletions, or “fast results.” Marketing that implied a fixed point range (for example, “50–150 points”) without prominent caveats is not consistent with this disclaimer and should not appear on our site. See our homepage rewrite guidance for counsel-approved card copy.

Consumer rights under the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA)

At a high level, federal CROA protections for consumers who deal with credit repair organizations include (among other things):

  • Required written disclosures and contracts describing services, timing, and costs
  • A right to cancel within 3 business days without charge (ops: reference this in the sales path)
  • Prohibitions on misrepresentations about what can be done to a credit file
  • Restrictions on advance fees — do not pay for credit repair services before they are fully performed where advance fees are prohibited

This summary is educational, not legal advice. Counsel confirms how CROA and Texas law apply to QTAC’s engagements.

Advance fees

Our site copy does not imply that consumers must pay for credit repair services before work is fully performed where federal law prohibits advance fees. Fee timing for any engagement is governed by the written client agreement and applicable law — [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM] operational fee schedule language.

Accurate negatives

No company can legally remove negative information from a credit report that is accurate and timely. Time and responsible financial habits matter; dispute rights focus on accuracy and completeness.
